Reference Articles

  • The complete General Code of Operating Rules as used by many railroads in the USA. (Listing of railroads is on the cover.) Over 80 pages and 100 graphics are fully indexed in this 1994 version.

  • The locomotive forming the subject of this bulletin is the 60,000th locomotive built by The Baldwin Locomotive Works. It was built during the early part of the year 1926 as an experiment to ascertain the possible economies which can be effected by the use of high steam pressures and a high ratio of expansion. Paul Pullen has reproduced parts of a book detailing the building and testing of Baldwin 60,000 with almost 3 megs of pictures, charts and photos. This is a must read for any steam historian or fan.
