We arrive at the Sroda depot in mid-afternoon to find Px48 #1920 ( Fablok, 1955 ) on the service track prepping for the last run of the day.

Presently the 0-8-0 moves down to pick up it's train.  The conductor, decked out in a classic PKP uniform, gives the come-ahead-easy while the fireman does the honors at the buffers.  Is that my wife sitting in the coach with a bottle in each hand?  Not to worry, it's just woda, I think.

The engine runs in reverse pulling the train the 17 km to Zaniemysl.  The fireman cuts back on the blower and the engine driver cracks the throttle as we leave one of many whistle stops.

At Zaniemysl the locomotive is run around the train for the return trip.  These guys are enjoying themselves so much that they must be railfans (well, it's a tough job, but somebody has to do it).   On the return trip we meet a local passenger train on the parallel standard gauge mainline.

Just a few more shots as we come in to Sroda.
