After a hard day's drive, we arrived in Wolsztyn as the evening train from Poznan got  in.    We watched the engine being serviced and put to bed, and then checked in to our "Railfan's Y."

Every railfan has a  favorite " hotel with a view."  Well, this is mine.  The railroaders'  hotel in the Wolsztyn yard.  They let railfans in too -- for a very modest rate. Breakfast? well, maybe later.  Right now, let's  find out what's going on down there in the yard.

On this day, Ty3 #2 ( 2-10-0, Schicshau, 1945) has been switching the yard since early morning.

A person could watch this sort of stuff for hours on end.

But the Ty finally leaves town with a local freight -- complete with a little green caboose.

Then we notice that  Ol49  #7 (2-6-2, Chrzanow,1951) is preparing for the mid-day passenger run to Posnan.

Steam is steam, no matter if it's in Pennsylvania or Poland.

We are so enthralled by the #7 that we almost miss another Ol49 returning with the morning run to Posnan.  Then we grab a quick shot of a speeder heading out, and the Ty coming back.

But now we must hurry and catch the train to Posnan!
